Frequently Asked Questions

Expand All:
Where can I find Banana Ketchup and Filipino BBQ marinade

These can be found at your local filipino or asian grocery store.  Local locations include H Mart in Burlington, MA or shop small and shop local at GFM pinoy food Mart in Salem, NH

Can I replace Banana Ketchup with regular tomato ketchup

Banana ketchup is what gives it the authentic filipino bbq flavor, regular ketchup will change the flavor profile and isn't recommended as a replacement

Can I cook this is a crockpot or slow cooker

Yes this recipe works in a slow cooker.  I recommend sautéing the bacon and onions in a pan before mixing in, otherwise you'll end up with rubbery bacon and large chunks of onions
